PURPOSE:To obtain the title high-performance colorant which scarcely forms a weldline even when it has a relatively large particle diameter. CONSTITUTION:The surfaces of particles having a maximum outside diameter of 10mum to 1.5mm, having surface gloss, and made from for example, a metal powder are coated with a dispersant comprising a surfactant (e.g. metallic soap), a wax comprising a low-molecular-weight resin and a fatty acid lubricant such as a higher fatty acid (e.g. stearic acid) and a coupling agent or a plasticizer to obtain the title colorant. Altenatively, this colorant is combined with a pigment powder or an inorganic filler surface-coated with a dispersant or both to form a mixture used as a colorant. A molding colored with either of these colorants is freed from any weldline. |
