PURPOSE:To store all musical sound data even when the capacity of a performance memory is small by providing a 1st mode wherein an accompaniment sound is generated on the basis of performance data and a 2nd mode wherein an accompaniment sound is generated on the basis of performance data read out of a RAM. CONSTITUTION:In the 1st mode, a chord is determined on the basis of a keying event generated by operation on a keyboard 1 and information specifying its root and chord type is passed to an ABC process routine. Then note events of the accompaniment sound are generated in sequence and stored in a MIDI buffer in the RAM 5. A musical sound synthesizing circuit 9 synthesizes the musical sound corresponding to the note events to generate the automatic accompaniment sound. In the 2nd mode, on the other hand, the keying event is sent out directly to the MIDI buffer in the RAM 5 and a musical sound generating and sounding process is performed for the note information of keying information except in an accompaniment key area. Note information in the accompaniment key area is passed to the ABC process routine and the automatic accompaniment sound is added here. |
