<p>PURPOSE:To measure the weight of sludge in a short time by stopping driving of a motor during the clarifying operation of a rotating body to freely reduce the speed of the rotating body up to 5% of its rated revolving speed and measuring the required time for the reducing speed. CONSTITUTION:When rotative driving is stopped during the clarifying operation, the speed of a rotating body 6 is reduced in accordance with a formula I. In this case, a mechanical loss torque can be measured before installation of a centrifugal clarifier because being a device characteristic. The moment of inertia is proportional to the weight including gathered sludge because of the same rotating body shape. Thus, the deceleration time to a certain revolving speed is measured to estimate the weight of the rotating body and gathered sludge.</p> |
