In the case of the wall element (10) according to the invention, the base sealing strip (22) is connected to a bottom horizontal member (16) of the frame (12) via a movement element (24), said movement element (24) being in operative connection with both the base sealing strip (22) and an actuating member (25) arranged in the vertical member (14) of the frame (12). This makes it possible to accommodate the entire mechanism in the relatively narrow frame, reliable functioning of the mechanism likewise being ensured.
