PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound which is a specific 5α-reductase inhibiting compound having a steroid structure derived from a microorganism of the genus Aspergillus and inhibiting actions on 5α-reductases and useful as a preventing and therapeutic agent for prostatic hypertrophy. SOLUTION: This new α-reductase inhibiting compound d1067331 is represented by the formula, has the following properties: properties of the substance: a light white powder; molecular formula: C28 H40 O3 (measured by a high resolution mass spectrometry); 424 molecular weight (measured by a mass spectrometry); solubility: soluble in methanol, ethanol, acetone, dimethyl sulfoxide, benzene, chloroform, diethyl ether and ethyl acetate and insoluble in water; color reaction: positive to sulfuric acid and iodine and further inhibiting actions on 5α-reductases and is useful as a preventing and/or a therapeutic agents for prostatic hypertrophy. The compound represented by the formula is obtained from a culture product of Aspergillus terreus Thom SNAK22295 strain capable of producing the compound d1067331 (FERM BP-5210). |
