PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform bone evaluation of a child without risk that the ultrasonic wave spot region does not range out of the measuring zone. SOLUTION: Transmission and reception of ultrasonic waves are conducted in such a condition that a pair of vibrator assemblies are pinched by a subject to be inspected, wherein each vibrator assembly has a coupling dome 34 in a conical shape. The coupling dome 34 is composed of a membrane and a coupling liquid filling it and is deformed elastically with the pressure applied to the vital organism. Adjustment of the degree of elastic deformation will result in adjustment of the area contacting with the vital organism, and accordingly adjustment of openings A1, A2 which the ultrasonic waves pass through. |
