<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas purifying device capable of reducing cinders of particulates and inhibiting damage to a filter. SOLUTION: An end face heater (end face heating part) 31 for heating the upstream side end face of a filter 2, and an outer periphery heater (outer periphery heating part 32 for heating only the outer-peripheral side face in the upstream part of the filter 2, are provided. The outer periphery heating part 32 heats the upstream side outerperipheral part of the filter 2 in which the quantity of applied heat is relatively running short by the end face heating part 31 alone, and thus the temperature difference between the upstream outer- peripheral part of the filter 2 and the central part in the diametrical direction, is reduced to reduce thermal stress, and thus to prevent cracking (crack) of the filter 2. Further, cinders on the outer-peripheral part of the filter 2 are reduced to prevent the outer-peripheral part from being melted due to the following excessive rise in temperature.</p> |
