<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize and lighten in weight a printer or a copying machine and reduce its manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: A photosensitive drum of a print head unit 1 is partitioned into four areas in a direction of an arrow A. These areas are allotted to colors Y, M, C, BK, respectively. These areas are electrified, exposed, and developed simultaneously by rotating the photosensitive drum so as to form images of four colors into band-like shapes at every color on the surface of the photosensitive drum. A series of operations for transferring the images to a recording paper 4 are performed continuously. A process that the band-like images of each color ranging from one end to other end of the image forming area are obtained on the recording paper 4 is repeated by deviating relative positions of the print head unit 1 and the recording paper 4 in the direction of the arrow A so as to superpose the images of the four colors on the recording paper 4 and to obtain color images.</p> |
