摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrically excellent material which can quickly catch and hold an electrolyte by mutually isolating cells by a porous wall, and arranging at least a part of a positive electrode and a negative electrode within a honeycomb structure. SOLUTION: The sealing of cells 18 around a honeycomb body 10 is started from the first line, and successively advanced to the inside alternate cells 18. The cells 18 are sealed by use of a sealing material 20, and this material is slightly extended down from an upper surface part 12 to seal the cells. Before a wire 22 and a powder are put into the surface part, the cells 18 and 24 are sealed to enhance the working property. After the wire 22 and the powder is put, it is made porous so that no pressure is accumulated in the operation of a storage battery. At least a part of a positive electrode and a negative electrode is arranged within the honeycomb structure. In charging, PbO is oxidized in the negative electrode to from PbO2 , and reduced in the positive electrode to form Pb. Thus, the PbO2 powder and lead powder are put around the wire 22 and another wire, respectively, to shorten the charging time.
