摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium having a protective film having proper elasticity together with hardness and excellent durability. SOLUTION: A protective layer formed onto a magnetic layer is composed of a carbon protective film properly containing fluorescent organic molecules. The measured Raman spectrum of the carbon protective film is converted to a net spectrum by conducting correction, in which the blank level is subtracted.
