PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten release time lag by immediately starting exposure without projecting light for reducing a red-eye phenomenon when it is considered as the diameters of pupils are decreased by auxiliary light. SOLUTION: Photometric operation is performed using a photometric circuit 12 succeeding to a range-finding arithmetic operation. It waits for turning on an exposure start switch S2 and turning off a photometry switch S1 when photometry is finished. When the exposure start switch S2 is turned on by further depressing the release button performed by an operator, it discriminates whether the auxiliary light is emitted at the time of range-finding or not, and when it is not emitted, preliminary light emission is performed for reducing red-eye, and lens driving for focusing is performed after waiting for 0.9 seconds, then exposure(normal flash light emission) is performed. Also, when it is discriminated that the auxiliary light is emitted, a time passing from auxiliary light emission start is judged, and when it passes 1.2 seconds, the preliminary light emission and the lens driving and the exposure are performed. When it is equal to or under 1.2 seconds, the exposure is immediately performed. |
