PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate an emergency shut-off apparatus for a fuel feeder even when a tensile force works on a pipe joint in an oblique direction, and reduce irregularity in the magnitude of the tensile force with which the emergency shut-off apparatus is operated, irrespective of a direction of the tensile force which works on the pipe joint in a fuel feeder. SOLUTION: This emergency shut-off apparatus for a fuel feeder is so constructed that a first pipe joint 1 and a second pipe joint 2 are connected to each other through a piece 3 to be broken and, when a tensile force F having a predetermined value or more works on a fuel feed hose 6 connected to the second pipe joint 2, the piece 3 to be broken is deformed or broken to separate the second pipe joint 2 from the first pipe joint 1, so that a valve body 4 in the first pipe joint 1 is seated in the position of a valve sheet 10 of the first pipe joint 1 to close a flow passage 11. When the tensile force F works on the second pipe joint 2 in the direction of an axial line C, the piece 3 to be broken is broken without causing resistance parts R to deform. On the other hand, when the tensile force F works on the second pipe joint 2 in an oblique direction, the piece 3 to be broken is broken and, simultaneously, the resistance parts R are deformed.
|
