PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photographic sensitive material superior in a combination of photographic sensitivity and graininess. SOLUTION: The silver halide photographic sensitive material has at least one photosensitive emulsion layer occupied with flat silver halide grains in >=50% of the projection areas of the total silver halide grains and having an aspect ratio of 3.0-10.0 and its variation coefficient of <=55% and a distance between each of their twin crystal faces of <=0.025μm, and the variation coefficient of this distance of <=40%. The total siiver halide grains of at least one kind of emulsion have an average grain diameter of <=0.73μm in terms of the grain diameter of a corresponding circle and its variation coefficient is <=30%.
