PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character processor capable of preserving the system management information of electronic mails without limiting a capacity even when only a floppy disk is provided as a preservation medium. SOLUTION: This character processor 10 is constituted of an MPU 1, a ROM 2, a RAM 3, an FD 4, a KB 7, a CRT 5, an NIC 6 and a system bus 8. To an 'Ethernet (R)' cable 9 connected to the NIC 6, several servers and network terminals or the like for performing communication with the character processor 10 are connected. By the execution of a system program developed in the RAM 3, the character processor 10 realizes a system management information preparation means, a management information mail transmission means and a management information mail reception means. The system management information preparation means manages the preparation, calling and preservation of the system management information. In the case of the preservation, its own mail address is specified as a destination, a system management information identifier is set and transmission to a mail box addressed to itself on the server is performed. In the case of the calling, the mail provided with the system management information identifier from the electronic mails delivered to itself is developed on the RAM 3. |
