STERILIZING AND CLEANING AGENT FOR DRAINAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sterilizing and cleaning agent for drainage capable of suppressing release of chlorine dioxide and having persistency of sterilizing force by utilizing oxidizing force and sterilizing force of chlorine dioxide eluted from an aqueous solution of stabilized chlorine dioxide and blending the chlorine dioxide with a specific solid material and a specific compound. SOLUTION: A stabilized aqueous solution of chlorine dioxide is impregnated into a porous solid material and the impregnated is mixed with granular material of sodium carbonate peroxidate to afford a compression molding. In the molding, chlorine dioxide is gradually eluted by a small amount while allowing the surface of the molding to collapse in a water absorbing state or wet state during use in a discharge port and sterilizing force can be sustained over a long period thereby. A cleaning agent containing 100 pts.wt. porous solid-like material, 20-60 pts.wt. stabilized aqueous solution of chloride dioxide containing 5-20wt.% chlorine dioxide and 50-1400 pts.wt. granular material of sodium carbonate peroxidate is preferably used as the cleaning agent. Silica gel is preferably used as the porous solid-like material. A collapse-retarding powder such as gypsum may further be added to the porous solid-like material. An aqueous binder may be added to the compression molding.
