PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superconducting wire having a high AC quenching current density and a low AC loss, which can be suitably used in a superconducting power equipment operated with the commercial frequency or a superconducting magnet generating AC magnetic field. SOLUTION: Nb-Ti filaments of 0.07-0.5μm in diameter are dispersed in a Cu-Ni series alloy in which stabilized copper is contained, and on its section, at least inside of the sheath of the matrix, a plurality of stabilized copper pieces are installed in the circumferential arrangement in the form of filaments of 2-20μm in diameter being split by Cu-Ti alloy.
