PHTHALOCYANINE COMPOUND, ITS PRODUCTION AND OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a phthalocyanlie compound having absorbability in a far infrared region of 600-1000nm and excellent in solubility, to provide a method for producing the compound, and to obtain an optical recording medium using the same. SOLUTION: A phthalocyanine compound in which one to eight positions among the sixteen substitutive positions of the benzene nuclei in the phthalocyanine skeleton are substituted with one to eight phenoxy groups and further with aryl groups which may have substituents. The compound is produced by reacting a metal compound with a phthalonitrile compound substituted by the phenoxy groups replaced with aryl groups which may have substituents. The optical recording medium contains the compound in a recording layer disposed on a substrate.
