摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adjusting method of the optical deflector which makes it possible to accurately align a rotary polygon mirror and a rotary shaft with each other. SOLUTION: On a flange 21, the shaft part 21a which is fitted in the rotary polygon mirror 29 and a ring-shaped surface seat 21b where the rotary polygon mirror 29 is mounted are provided, and three slots 21c are formed radially on the shaft part 21a from the shaft center. Further, plural through holes 21d which penetrate the flange 21 vertically are formed between the surface seat 21b and shaft part 21a. To fix the rotary polygon mirror to a motor, the rotary polygon mirror 29 is fitted onto the shaft part 21a of the flange 21 and then compressed air A is supplied to the center of the shaft part 21 by using a jig 31 to form a layer of the compressed air A in the fitting gap between the shaft part 21a and the rotary polygon mirror 29; and then the rotary polygon mirror 29 is aligned by the air film of the compressed air A to precisely adjust the coaxiality between the shaft part 21a and rotary polygon mirror 29. At this time, excessive compressed air is passed through the A through holes 21d and discharged to below the flange 21.
