PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means capable of detecting the decline of the data holding characteristics of a flash memory beforehand and improving the data holding characteristics by the re-write of data or the like without inviting the decline of the read rate of the data. SOLUTION: At the time of performing an initialization processing after turning power ON to a flash disk card 1 provided with the flash memory 4 and an ECC circuit (error detection and correction circuit) 11, by an MPU 6 inside the flash disk card 1, all the data written in the flash memory 4 are read as a part of the initialization processing, and when the detection and correction of errors are performed by the ECC circuit 11 to the read data, the corrected data are written in the flash memory 4 and the data holding characteristics are improved without lowering the read rate of the data. |
