PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the chargeable and dischargeable cycle number by forming a lithium secondary battery of a positive electrode, a negative electrode containing lithium or its alloy, and a nonaqueous electrolyte, and containing moisture of a specified ratio in the nonaqueous electrolyte. SOLUTION: This lithium secondary battery is formed of a positive electrode 3, a negative electrode 4 and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The nonaqueous electrolyte contains 30-3000ppm of moisture. When LiPF6 is used as the electrolyte and a mixture of ethylene carbonate and diethyl carbonate is used as organic solvent, for example, the electrolyte preferably contains 600-1500ppm of moisture. The moisture less than 30ppm or more than 3000ppm is not preferred because the charging and discharging frequency can not be increased. |
