PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain electrolytic water having excellent sterilizing power and capable of keeping sterilizing power for a long period of time by adding at least one kind of a component among iodine or a compd. thereof and fluorine or a compd. thereof in at least one stage before or during the electrolysis of a chlorine compd. SOLUTION: In enhancing the sterilizing power of electrolytic water, one component among iodine or a compd. thereof and fluorine or a compd. thereof is contained or added in one stage before or during the electrolysis of a chlorine compd. At this time, before or during the electrolytic production of electrolytic water and a sterilizing agent, iodine or a compd. thereof and fluorine or a compd. thereof are pref. contained or added so that iodine and/or fluorine is present as it is or in a form of a compd. of alkali metal or alkaline earth metal. The content or addition amt. of iodine or a compd. thereof or fluorine or a compd. thereof is set to a range of 0.01-1mol/l, pref., 0.05-0.5mol/l in electrolytic water. |
