MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium which has excellent electromagnetic conversion characteristics and durability and in which drop-out is reduced. SOLUTION: This recording medium is composed of a nonmagnetic supporter 2, an intermediate layer 3 formed onto the nonmagnetic supporter 2, and a magnetic layer 4 formed onto the intermediate layer 3. The magnetic layer 4 contains the aliphatic ester of 3-7C straight-chain or branched-chain aliphatic alcohol and a 12-18C straight-chain or branched-chain aliphatic acid and the aliphatic ester of 8-14C straight-chain or branched-chain aliphatic alcohol and the 12-18C straight-chain or branched-chain aliphatic acid as a lubricant. The coercive force of the magnetic layer 4 is set to be within the range of 1500-2500Oe.
