Barbecue for cooking food

The barbecue comprises a grille (1) formed from parallel S shaped metal gutters (2). The gutter sections are inclined and mutually overlap to form a continuous surface with the exception of small chicane passages between consecutive gutters. The grille is inclined towards the barbecue front edge and at its lower edge has a collector (3) for cooking juices which are recovered in a container (4). The grille is provided with two sides of a continuous vertical wall (5) which form a conduit above the fire which is open only on the front and rear sides. The rear cross section of this conduit is greater than the front so as to create natural convection of the hot gases from the fire towards the rear side of the barbecue.
