The energy economiser systems causes the equipment to operate in two modes for image transfer. The first mode operates at nominal energy consumption. The second mode operates at a reduced energy consumption. The energy remaining (37) is compared (28) with a set level. When the energy remaining exceeds the set level the equipment operates at the nominal energy consumption, otherwise at reduced level. The energy demand is reduced by reducing the density of the dots printed on a page, or by reducing the number of colours. The path of the print head is adjusted to reduce the power consumption. |
