A method for designing and manufacturing all kinds of dental prostheses according to predetermined criteria (colour, material, size, location) relating to the oral cavity and the environment therein. According to the method, the predetermined data on the features, size values, locations, sites and colour of the teeth and their surroundings are input into a first register (1), the features of a given oral condition, i.e. sizes, locations, sites and colours, are converted into data which are then input into a second register (2), and the data in the second register (2) are compared with the corresponding data in the first register (1).
