Monolithic block, prepared from non-linear materials put in optical contact, contains 2 to 2n non-linear materials. Preferably the materials may be optically welded. Preferably, the materials are identical crystals and are initially subjected to a rotation about the axis perpendicular to the beam propagation direction and contained within the plane defined by the two Poynting vectors controlling walk-off. Preferably materials with non-linear optical properties such as KTP (KTiOPO4), BBO ( beta -BaB2O4) and KNbO3.
