The invention relates to a process for producing straw bales in which, while a straw packing or conserving machine is travelling over a field, straw produced during processing is pressed into bales, which are then ejected and deposited on the field, and a device for implementing the process with a mobile straw packing or conserving machine having a pressing channel ejecting the pressed straw bales. The basic purpose is to reduce the effort recquired to recover straw bales without any modification of the straw packing or conserving machine. In terms of the process, the purpose is attained in that at least two straw bales are stacked vertically during the machine's travel and discharged on the field in stacked from. In terms of the device, it is attained in that there is a straw bale stacking wagon at the intermediate storage position which is connected to the discharge side of the straw packing or conserving machine in such a way that it is behind the pressing channel. |
