<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accelerate a first copying speed by making the distance to a fixing device on the downstream side in the carrying direction of transfer material shorter than the length of the usable transfer material in the carrying direction and driving an image carrier by a variable speed ultrasonic motor. SOLUTION: The distance L from a final transfer position, that is, an abutting part between a photoreceptor drum 8Bk and a transfer charger 7Bk to the fixing device 10 is shorter than the length of a sheet S. That is, the size of a main body is made smaller than that in conventional device by the distance of a carrying belt. The distance from cassettes 1a and 1b to a tray 20 is made shorter. Therefore, spots to be confirmed in the case of paper jamming are reduced and the operability of the device is improved. Furthermore, the first copying speed is made higher. In such a case, the photoreceptor is driven by the variable speed ultrasonic motor which is a driving source arranged near the drum through a pulley, the driving belt and a driving pulley. Fixed force is always exerted on the output shaft of the ultrasonic motor to a rotor.</p> |
