PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wet-type solar cell with effective absorption of solar light, good solubility in organic solvent, and good adsorption in titanium dioxide, by using a phthalocyanine compound with a specific substituent as an optical sensitizing pigment. SOLUTION: A wet-type solar cell includes an electrode 1 and the counter electrode 4, at least one of which is substantially transparent, with an electrolyte solution in between. The transparent electrode 1 has a titanium dioxide layer 2, in which phthalocyanine compound is absorbed. In the formula, x is oxygen atom or sulfur atom, m is two hydrogen atoms, metal or metallic derivative, and n is an integral number from 1 to 3. The phthalocyanine compound has good solubility in an organic solvent, and put in a strong bonded state with a surface of the titanium dioxide. Then, the phthalocyanine compound has good performance of electron migration from an electron donor to a maximum occupation orbit along with good durability, and is used as an optical sensitizing pigment.
