PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply perform mass treatment with high reliability by using L-glutamic acidα-p-nitroanilide (Glu-pNA) as an effect component. SOLUTION: A blood plasma specimen and a physiological saline soln. are distributed to an Eppendorf tube. Before the start of reaction, a reaction buffer soln. is added to a substrate of L-glutamic acidα-p-nitroanilide to prepare a reaction soln. which is, in turn, added to the Eppendorf tube to perform incubation. After a definite time, acetic acid with a predetermined concn. is added to stop reaction. The absorbancy of a blank and the absorbancy originating from the specimen are substracted to calculate a substantial absorbancy change by enzymatic reaction. By this constitution, only in a case using Glu-pNA as a substrate, the lowering of the activity of aminopeptitase (GAP) in blood of an Alzhemer's disease patient is obtained.
