The compressor comprises a rotatable shaft (5) connected to a rotatable part (40). A longitudinally movable swashplate (10) with a slide face (10a) is installed on it. The swashplate is coupled to pivot on the part connected to the shaft, and when in operation rotates with it. Pistons (7) are movable in respective cylinders (6). The free end of each piston rod (11) is formed as a ball (11a) which is supported on a member (51) sliding on the slide face of the swashplate.
