AIRCRAFT WINDOW CRAZING INSPECTING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inspect quickly the crazing generated in an acrylic pane of an aircraft window. SOLUTION: From four sides, a white or red light flux is cast on an exterior surface of an acrylic pane 1a at a projecting angle of approx. 10deg., and a line crazing and a star crazing existing on the exterior surface are photographed by two CCD cameras 43, 44 installed inclining approx. 30deg. to the direction perpendicular to the exterior surface. The obtained image signals given by the CCD cameras are subjected to a specified processing, and the number of picture elements due to reception of the diffused light is counted and compared with a specified reference value, and thereupon the acceptability of the acrylic pane 1a is judged.
