PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the heat radiating property of a storage battery and prevent a problem caused by heat accumulation or a temperature rise by forming relatively thin sections in the regions surrounded by thick sections on the periphery of a battery jar side wall. SOLUTION: A container 12 is formed with side walls 18 having a wide area and arranged in the laminating direction of unit cells, narrow side walls 19, and a bottom wall 20. Relatively thick sections 30 are arranged on four sides of the periphery of the side walls 18. Relatively thin sections 180 are formed in the regions surrounded by the relatively thick sections 30. The relatively thick sections 30 are formed on the side walls 19 as a whole. The relatively thick sections 30 are arranged on four sides of the periphery of the bottom wall 20 as a whole. The relatively thick sections 30 of the bottom wall 20 may be equal/thicker in thickness to/than the relatively thick sections 30 of the side walls 18.
