PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery having high reliability and high energy density and with which expansion of a battery case is suppressed and appliances are prevented from being damaged even in the case the battery is exposed to high temperature. SOLUTION: This secondary battery has an electrode unit in which a cathode 2 and an anode 1 are insulated mutually by a porous separator 3 made of a resin and is filled with a non-aqueous electrolytic solution. In the battery, projected parts 13, 14 facing outward are formed in the battery case 12. The anode 1 is made of a carbon material or a graphite material which can dope or dedope lithium ion and the cathode 2 is made of Lix MOy (wherein M represents at least one element selected from Co, Ni, Mn, Fe, Al, V, and Ti) and the electrolytic solution is a non-aqueous electrolytic solution. |
