PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve failure caused by a high luminance object at the outside of a range-finding frame by changing a picture element range where a quantization reference selection is made in storing electric charge for range-finding. SOLUTION: When it is instructed to start storing the electric charge for the range-finding, the respective picture elements S0-S99 of a line sensor are simultaneously start storing the electric charge. When the voltage of the condenser of the picture element (brightest picture element) irradiated with the strongest light reaches specified voltage, a latch signal is outputted. When the quantization reference selection of the picture element is made by a microcomputer, a latch detecting part corresponding to the picture element outputs a latch detection signal. Then, a counter starts counting. Also, a latch part inputs and latches the counted value of the counter when the latch signal is inputted. When a quantization reference selection signal is not inputted, the latch detecting part does not output the latch detection signal through a latch signal is inputted. |
