Electronically controlled photographic camera

The camera includes a lens system which is moved along an optical axis by a lens driver. A break arrests the movement of the lens system and a detector senses the movement. A controller stops the application of the break when the detector indicates that the lens system is motionless. Pref. the controller also stops the break after a predetermined time interval if the indication is not received from the detector.
