<p>The invention relates to a method for closing the contact between a packaging machine (A') and the product line (P) of the packaging machine while, for example, the packaging machine or the product line is being washed or other break in production takes place, during which the contact is closed with the help of a valve unit (21, 22, 23). To create a sterile and leak-proof barrier, a vapour barrier is formed on the intermediate space (23) of the valve unit of two parts (21, 22), in addition to conventional barrier function of the valve unit.
