Flexible disks contain toroidal loop packets (10) for transmitting tractive forces between fasteners (32). The loop packets (10) and fasteners (32) are joined to form a ring and are then embedded in a gum elastic material. In preparation the loop packets are extrusion-coated individually or in groups with an elastomer coating (20, 22) that defines and stabilizes their outer contour. The elastomer material is only partially vulcanized before the ring is completely embedded in the gum elastic material.
