Liquid crystal mixture for use as dielectric in electro-optical displays

The liquid crystal (LC) mixture contains at least two 4-cyano-3-fluorophenyl 4-n-alkyl- or 4-(trans-4-n-alkyl-cyclohexyl)-benzoates of formula (I), at least two 1-alkyl- or 1-n-alkoxy-4-(trans-4-n-alkyl-cyclohexyl)-cyclohexane or -benzene compounds of formula (II), at least one 4-n-alkyl-phenyl 4-n-alkoxy-benzoate of formula (III), at least two trans-4-(trans-4-n-alkyl-cyclohexyl)-cyclohexyl 4-n-alkyl-cyclohexanecarboxylates of formula (IV) and at least two 4,4'-bis(trans-4-n-alkyl-cyclohexyl)-biphenyls of formula (V). In the formulae: R1 = linear 2-7C alkyl; R2, R4, R5, R6 and R7 = linear 2-5C alkyl; R3 = linear 1-5C alkyl or alkoxy; n = 0 or 1; and ring A is of formula (a) or (b). Also claimed are multi-bottle systems containing the above LC medium.
