The engine has a half ring piston (3,4) which rotates in each of two crossing cylindrical rings (1,2) of the same dimensions. One piston has a gear ring on its outer annular circumference, and the other a gear ring on its inner. These rings slide in corresponding slots in the cylindrical rings' walls. The pistons with their gear rings are interconnected by a gearwheel combination. When using the machine as an internal combustion engine, one piston performs the suction and compression stroke and the other piston the combustion and exhaust stroke.
