Electronic viewfinder for camera

The camera, e.g. for aerial photography, has an electronic viewfinder to provide the operator with a reference image. The viewfinder (1) receives the incoming light(16) via an image intensifier(9). The incoming signal from the image intensifier drives the correction circuit for the viewfinder display(19) and also provides a signal for the exposure control for the shutter(5). The image intensifier circuit includes an auto-gating control (21) while the viewfinder can include a video camera, with the amplification controlled via the image intensifier circuit. Fibre optics coupling(11) transfers the image from the image intensifier to the CCD sensor(13).
