PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record/reproduce a stereoscopic television signal and a high definition television signal in a similar format by recording two mode signals with different signal form onto a tape with a coincident track pattern to use most of reproduction system and servo system of both the signals in common. SOLUTION: Each frame of two information signals of a stereoscopic image is divided into four blocks and 1st and 3rd, and 2nd and 4th signals are converted into video signals L10, R11 and they are recorded to first half and latter half areas of each track via a recording signal processing circuit 500. Furthermore, the high definition image information is divided into two blocks for each frame and converted into a video signal H and recorded in an entire area including the first half and the latter half of each track. In the case of reproduction, scanning line number is divided into four fields in each frame of stereoscopic image information and information sets L, R are converted respectively into odd numbered and even numbered fields. The high definition image signal is divided into two fields for each frame and converted into a half scanning line number and outputted. |
