Device for neutralisation of electrostatic charges through corona discharge

A device for neutralising electrostatic charge by corona discharge uses discharge electrodes and earthed counter-electrodes. The discharge electrodes are capacitatively attached to an AC high voltage supply. On one side of a carrier (1) of dielectric material is a series of these discharge electrodes 92), separated electrically from each other in the form of thin conducting layers. On the other side of the carrier there is a thin conducting layer joined to the voltage supply, allowing capacitative coupling between the supply and the electrodes. The carrier is made from plastic strip or flexible foil. The electrodes are stamped onto it or sprayed on to it.
