METHOD, DEVICE FOR READING TEXT AND QUANTITATIVE EXPRESSION CONVERTING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output the reading voice of text of Japanese sentences with satisfactory comprehensibility by extracting sections corresponding to a numeral and an auxiliary numeral from an inputted text as quantitative expression parts and changing the extracted quantitative expression parts into different quantitative expression parts according to the change rules of quantitative expressions. SOLUTION: A text reader 3 is composed of a language processing means 10 for converting the information of text of inputted Japanese sentences to the information of reading corresponding to the descriptions of respective words in the text and a voice synthesizing means 20 for synthesizing out the information of voices based on the information of reading from that processing means 10. Then, the device 3 extracts the 1st quantitative expression part expressing quantity in the text based on the information of parts of speech of respective words extracted by the processing means 10 and changes that extracted quantitative expression part into 2nd quantitative expression part according to the prescribed change rules while using a quantitative expression converting means 30. Thus, the changed expression can be freely applied to the quantitative expression which easily generates the error of hearing or can be hardly heard.
