OPTICAL SWITCH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical switch capable of shortening the access time of a master side optical fiber to optional n-side optical fibers arranged on plural stages in a laminated state, attaining extremely efficient optical coupling and reducing its thickness. SOLUTION: The optical switch 1 is constituted of forming one side of plural fiber aligning groove lines 9A formed in parallel on the surface of an optical fiber array 5 as fiber fixing groove lines and forming the other side of the lines 9A as fiber leading groove lines 7A. When a master side optical fiber 2 is led into an optional fiber leading groove 7, the master side optical fiber 2 can be selectively optically coupled with n-side optical fibers 3 fixed on fiber fixing grooves in parallel. The fiber leading groove lines 7A are arranged stepwise in the extending direction of the fiber aligning grooves and the n-side optical fibers 3 are fixed in fiber fixing grooves on each step.
