FLEXIBLE CIRCUIT, MULTIPLE TRACK MAGNETIC TAPE HEAD ASSEMBLY AND MAGNETIC TAPE DRIVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the tape driving function by providing a flexible circuit having three principle structural and functional parts. SOLUTION: The flexible circuit 122 has a readout channel part 130 and a write channel part 134 and a dynamic flexible part 132. These three parts are directly connected to many read and write heads in a tape head array (which is not shown in the figure). The readout channel part 130 has plural number of readout channel amplifiers (which are not shown in the figure) to be connected one to another so as to receive read out signals from plural pieces of readout heads and also to amplify them. The write channel part 134 has an external connection area for making it possible that connections of signals and powers are performed in a host circuit module and plural pieces of write channels drivers. The dynamic flexible part 132 separates the readout channel part 130 and the write channel part 134 from each other and mutually connects them and also adjusts an outline when a positional adjustment is performed to the head array by a head positioning mechanism.
