Gas can be supplied from the bottle (B) to the valve (V) at a lower level than the latter via a small pipe inside the trigger guard (GM), thus avoiding any mixing of gaseous and liquid media. The valve is at the same height as the barrel. A firing-pin can be provided, in which a hammer, striking against the valve from the front and in the rearwards direction reduces the distance between the forward end of the barrel (C) and the supporting point on the user's hand. The trigger end can move horizontally round a vertical axis.
