Molybdenum foil bushings (3,5,8) forms a part of at least one seal (3) of an electric lamp with a quartz bulb. The foil (5) is doped with silicates and/or aluminates and/or borates of alkali and/or alkaline earth metals and with silicates and/or aluminates and/or borates of one or several elements of Groups 3b and/or 4b of the periodic system of the elements. The amount of alkali and/or alkaline earth elements is 15 - 150 ppm, particularly 30-90 ppm and the proportion of silicates and/or aluminates and/or borates of one or several elements of Groups 3b and/or 4b is 0.01-1.0 wt. %, particularly 0.2-0.4 wt. %.
