PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording and reproducing device which can prevent an information recording medium from being extracted by mistake from a cartridge storing the information recording medium capable of recording information by applying an energy beam thereto. SOLUTION: A cartridge comprises a main body 1, a lid 2 capable of being separated from the main body 1 or opened and closed and an information recording medium 5 capable of recording and reproducing information by applying an energy beam thereto, and a pin 4 for fixing the main body 1 and the lid 2 of the cartridge in the state of being closed is provided. After the cartridge is set to the information recording and reproducing device and optional operation is performed and, when the extraction of the information recording medium 5 is required, the pin 4 is released to make the lid 2 separable from the main body 1 or openable and after that, the cartridge is ejected from the information recording and reproducing device. |
