The present invention discloses an alkydalic resin aqueous emulsion prepared from (a1) a fatty acid or an oil, (a2) at least a compound of relatively high functionality, the functional groups of which are selected from hydroxyl and carboxyl groups, and b) an emulsifier, wherein all starting materials required for a) and b) components can be prepared exclusively from renewable starting substances.
